As Fir dragged me into the large, black marble room, Elm seemed to straighten up in his chair. The Court was a beautiful, one-roomed building with the most dazzling furniture you've ever seen. Elm was sitting at the glass table in the corner, playing Solitaire. He looked at Fir, his eldest camper, then he just had to look at me. Again, I was probably the LAST thing he wanted to see.
"Well, well. If it isn't our newest camper. What has she done? Set the archery range on fire? Blown up one of the cabins?"
I could feel my face turning red with rage. Who did he think he was? I'd never done anything like that! This was my first day of training, for heaven's sake!
"Just ignore it," Fir muttered. "He always assumes his campers are blowing things up."
I made my anger clear to Elm by glaring at him. He just ignored it and continued.
"Hmm. Well whatever it is, I'm sure it could be fixed."
"No," Fir retorted. "She's gone into the forest."
Elm froze. Guardians are very vulnerable, especially in the forest. Our scent was delicious, especially to bloodthirsy monsters who tried to wipe out our race.
Elm then relaxed just as quikly as he tensed.
"Well, we must all learn sometime. Get her to training. Now"
And with that, he dismissed us, sending us out to Dogwood, who was waiting outside nervously.
