Blood+ (The Novels): First Kiss Empty
PostSubject: Blood+ (The Novels): First Kiss   Blood+ (The Novels): First Kiss EmptyFri Jul 23, 2010 9:55 pm

This is a series of novels adapted from the anime Blood+, which most of you probably shouldn't watch until you are AT LEAST thirteen. Maybe fourteen. But it is a MAGNIFICENT anime, wonderfully constructed, lovely art, and the plot is flawless. Although I dearly wish they would make another season, I'll just have to be satisfied...Anyway, here's the description for the first novel, aptly named First Kiss, written by Ryo Ikehata. Original Concept by PRODUCTION I.G. ANIPLEX, Illustrations by CHIZU HASHII. Translated by John Thomas. That's on the cover~

Suffering from extreme amnesia, high school student Saya Otonashi can't remember anything from her life b eyond the last year. Living with a foster family outside a military base in Okinawa, japan, Saya's attempts to live a normal life are shattered when a Chiropteran, a horrific vampire-like monster, attacks her. Saved at the last minute by a mysterious man named Hagi, Saya is presented with a sword that awakens in her a warrior's skill and bloodlust, and sets her on a course that will lead her to the answers of her missing memories, and into battle against a race of creatures intent on destroying the world.

Also available is book two, CHEVALIER, book three, BOY MEETS GIRL, and book four, NANKURUNAISA. Feel free to read~

You've probably noticed I posted the first opening...XD I couldn't resist! But DO NOT watch the anime if you are under the age of at least 13, though it'd be better if you were fifteen+...

Hm, these don't sound too bad either, though the vampire monster thing isn't really what I like. Does it cuss? Have any sexual scenes or just stuff like simple kissing?

There are two characters who cuss. XD Kai, Saya's adoptive brother, isn't a very good kid...but they never drop the F-bomb, and the cussing isn't at all frequent. There's not really much romance in this one, just Saya steadily regaining her memories, and learning of her duty...Destroying the Chiropterans~ Do NOT watch the anime, it's MA and I know you wouldn't like all the violence. The book is great, though. The whole series is pretty clean as far as sexual stuff goes. Maybe one or two kissing scenes in the last two books.

Eh, the Chiropterans are just kinda THERE. What really matters is the Chevalier...This series will probably make you cry, but it's just that much better for it...

I don't really agree with things that involve pornography or profanity, but the overall scheme sounds all right for people who would enjoy that type of stuff. However, I'm more of a romance person.

. . .
Rachellllllle! I just replied to Luv saying there IS no porn-esque material in the anime or the books. There's more language in the show, less in the novelization. Mainly because the focus is more on Saya's story line, and she's a very innocent person. The only issue with the show is the violence. It's a mainly horror-type show, and most of you probably couldn't stomach the violence. I mean, it's not horror-movie bad, and it's animated, but it's just not good for most of you. Again, this isn't due to profanity or sexual stuff (even references are pretty much non-existent).
It's more of a romance in the later books, but it isn't called "First Kiss" for no reason. I don't wanna spoil too much in case ya'll read it, but Hagi is deeply entwined with Saya's memories...I don't feel like I should say any more than that, though.

XD It only has a few MA rated episodes because of the violence, Rachelle-chan. S'okay. The books are a bit violent too, but nothing particularly graphic, seeing as they're books.
