We stood in the midst of a vast waterfall. We were surrounded by the council of elder tigers. A clearing was set for us. Me, Kailia Silverstipe and him Gaerith Thundertail. He was a Bengal Tiger that lived up in the mountains with the Siberians several thousand of years after. They adapted to our lifestyle.
"We have come together for the first trial in the joining on this she tiger, Kailia Silverstone and the male tiger, Gaerith Thundertail," said the The old tiger.
"You may begin, the elder said solemnly.
I jumped and used my wings and buffeted Gaerith, yet he effortlessly snaked out of the winds trajectory. Gaerith jumped and that's how I saw the difference in our wings. His flight feathers were sharp and powerful yet mine were rounded and light. I had the basic anatomy needed for flight and he had some.
In my thought Gaerith jumped high enough to grip my wings, which had me crying out, startled. He pulled me to the ground in mere seconds, and before I could breathe, I was pinned.
I flurried my wings in hope that he would be thrown off but he stayed planted with each of his legs covering one of my own.
"Dang it! Get off me,"I growled in a fluster.
"You don't want a mate," he asked confused.
"No! Now get off before I hurt you!" Gaerith laughed formidibly
.
"I hardly seem how you can hurt me from here," he said with a smile in his voice.
But, before I could retort the council announced, "The female has been bested!"
I looked over at the large white tiger, who was head of the council angrily, but the older tiger did not seem to be disturbed by my raging glare.
I glanced at Gaerith and saw a look of pure laughter and lightheartedness in his dark green eyes.
When I had gotten up I raced from the clearing to a pool at the end of the Tigris River.
"Uh," I grunted as I fixated my gaze on the glittery water. As I settled my self upon the edge, I saw myself. My silver fur was had the traditional black stripes, but the feathery white wings that rested on my back where bigger than others. Suddenly I felt sort of exposed and a little ashamed of my large wings. My eyes where purple, which was rare but not unheard of.
"God, your a fast runner," huffed Gerith. He sat beside me leaning against me though I had not greeted him.
"You again?"
