| Hi guys! This is Luv and recently I've started reading "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. One of the main character traits of Mia, the main character, is that she plays the cello. Her boyfriend, however, is in an emo-core band. When they describe his band (and the club they play at), it sounds SO COOL. How they dress, the way they act, the energy in the club and band. So guess what Luv decided to do? Yep, start a book with the same character aspects, except this time, the girl's gonna be the punk rock one. I can't think of a name that would sound like it belongs to a punk rock girl-or should it not? I don't know much of the plot line or how to develop the character(s). I also need other characters ideas. So this is where Wonderland comes in-tell me what you would want to see in a book describes the life of a punk rock chicka-spare me no details and give me names, descriptions, etc. I want it all. Thanks for your help, can't wait to see what comes! Love, Luv | |

| Well, when you ask for something like this with ME on the site.... Well, you're screwed.
SO. Let get the basic traits of the awesome emo girl. She loves invader zim. She likes cupcakes. She does a lot of arm waving. She's obsessed with Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, and Paramore. She has short, spikey hair that's normally dyed all kinds of colors. Lots of leather. Many belts worn at one time. Lost of eye makeup. Doesn't give a sh...oe. Loves coffee. Writes poetry. (EMO POETRY> NO FLOWERS AND BUNNIES. Unless they are vampire bunnies and they slaughter the flowers in a very blood fights to the death) Has a bedroom painted with the color from Home Depot called Shadow (no joke, man) Cries a lot. Sometimes thinks about killing herself. Wears strange outfits. Has an overprotective dad. Room always messy. Listens to some pretty intense music. (i.e. Scremo) Is a really good artist, but draws just a little too much blood.
That should do it... | |

| OKay, punk rock chic. -Wears all black but with something neon -Lots of makeup -Doesn't really fit in/slightly shunned -Deeply talented -Writes poetry, songs, etc. -Pretty smart, just doesn't brag about it -Isn't morbid and depressed ALL the time, but gets slightly depressed more than average. -Thinks about suicide/death -Isn't into fundraising and extra activities -Likes art -Short, spikey hair, black, with highlights. -Converse with neon laces -Wears a lot of jewelry. Thats what I think is punk rock chic. Hope it helps! -Rachelle41 | |

| I'm sorry it took me so terribly long to reply to this (you've probably forgotten about the idea by now), but today, I felt like describing a few awesome emo characters. First, however, I think it's important that you consider what you're looking for in "emo"; a depressive person who cuts, or the combination of a dark style and the emo genre of music? Meanwhile, I'll just describe a few characters that come to mind. I'll even name them...half-heartedly. I'm not so great at names. XD Oh wait...you want punk-rock-chic? Well...Combinations are always nice?
Elise MIld - > Loud and abrasive around friends, quiet around strangers > Easily takes offense > Quick to anger > Depressive tendencies/overly critical of herself > Dresses in either monotone clothing or extremely dark shades of bright colors (ex: dark violet) > Wears a lot of skinny jeans, studded belts, and pleated skirts (Well, that's what I'd wear if I were a punk-rock-chick, anyway) > If she does cut, she'll wear sweaters, long sleeves, jackets, and possibly leggings > Either black-dyed or bright and colorfully-dyed hair > Listens to punk/rock, alternative, screamo, and emo bands (ex: Paramore, Escape the Fate, Black Veil Brides, Pierce the Veil, The Devil Wears Prada, Evanescence, Alesana, Florence + The Machine, Linkin Park...) > Wears band-tees. You can't be punk-rock/emo/goth/cool without wearing band-tees. > Piercings > Copious amounts of eye-makeup (+ pale face-makeup) > Writes poetry every now and again (dark stuff, usually) > Tends to wallow in tears and sadness every once in a while > Alternates between crying and laughing at romance films/novels > Argues frequently with parents/doesn't have parents/got kicked out by parents > Is terrified by children > Creates saddening watercolors > Blows off school > Loves cats...keeps a close eye on dogs > Knows basic Swedish and takes French as a course in school
Angel Koivisto - > HE MUST WEAR BLACK-AND-WHITE CHECKERED VANS. He must. ;D > Either quiet and pessimistic or loud and abrasive (same could be said for Elise, actually) > If the latter, probably narcissistic > Dark clothing, band-tees, plaid (not lumber-jack plaid, goth-plaid), skinny jeans, dark/goth-style jackets, those wrist-warmer things (Yeah, so the name escapes me...), leather accessories, a copious amount of piercings > Dark hair, possibly shoulder length, usually spiking up and over one eye (can also be either bleached or streaked with color) > Listens to similar bands, possibly excluding Paramore > Copious amounts of eye-makeup (occasionally pale face-makeup) > Writes angry/dark poetry > Argues frequently with parents/doesn't have parents/got kicked out by parents > Loves kids > Uses heavy paints and oils to depict morbid scenes > Skips school frequently > Hates dogs > Has a forced respect for cats > Knows Finnish, and is a fan of Finnish cello-rockbands > Watches crass shows
...So. That's about as detailed as I feel like getting...XD It's hard to do two people, despite all of their similarities, because there are such great differences between punk-rock-chick and punk-rock-guy.
By the way, they speak those languages because Elise is Swedish ("Mild"...and now that I think about it, I gave her a French first name. Wow.) and Angel is Finnish ("Koivisto"...a little more obviously foreign, eh?).
