The morning, afternoon, and everything inbetween was the same as the night before. Sad and lonely. The maids and servants were busy preparing for the ball, and helping the girls get their flouncy ballroom dresses on and the boys uncomfrontable leggings onto their strugging legs. Nicolette sat on her bed and stared at the stone floor, not moving for hours. Many times, Elisabeth and Jonathan, two of Nicolette's younger siblings, would run down the hall noisily, or Elisabeth would shriek which was followed by a snicker from Jonathan. Still in her clothes from the day before, she trudged over to her wardrobe. The wardrobe was nothing special, only that it was a gift from the people of Corinthia, and it was made from some of the finest mable around. She rumaged through her many skirts, blouses, and dresses, only to come across a dress she had never noticed before. It looked almost to pretty to wear with its sparkly indigo fabric at the top, and silky bottom with fire designs on it. It flowed past her ankles, and left a trail behind her. Nicolette took it off the hook and wandered to the mirror.
It was indeed pretty. She simply slipped off her old clothes and placed the new dress on. She seemed to glow brighter than usual, but she was gorgeous. One of her servants curled her hair and stopped to look at the dress, almost looking scared of it. Something wasn't normal about the dress. It wasn't a normal gown. There was a dangerous secret about it. Something that would put her whole family in jeperody.
