Whatever I Want- prolouge

"What if I don't want to get married," I complained endlessly to my parents.

Here in the high Malaysian mountains near the Euphrates river, young female tigers getting married was very common.Especially one like me. I am the first Winged Tiger. The tigers have been waiting many many years for a winged tiger. And the truth is I am not the very first. I am the first whose wings were actually usable. I can fly faster than the fastest birds, and higher than most ground sight birds alike. Many kingdoms have come around to witness my birth, and many wish to claim me as a mate. The white eagles in the northern mountains sent there highest flier and the equestrian mountain horses sent there strongest Pegasus. Many asked.

My father considered them all, but decided on a young winged tiger whose wings where movable but did not lift him into the air instead they helped jump great lengths.
But nobody had asked me what I want.

'I will not marry him,"I stated plainly.

"Yes honey you will," my father retorted.

"I'd rather be mated by a scamper," I said.

I had known this was a low blow. A scamper is a rouge tiger who looks to spread his DNA in any she-tiger not protected or marked by another male.
My father flinched and glanced at my mother wearily. She was lounging in the heat of the morning sun not paying a single mind.

"Soon you will meet and you will really get to decide."

As a ritual of the ceremony the male and female have a sort of challenge. The dance and if the male over comes or is equal to the female they are meant to be. If the women wins then they cannot be mated. So many males to come and challenge me, I have lost count. None of them can beat me for my wings are mighty. I don't mean to be so stuck up but for years I have been salivated over, watched, and waited for and I am sick of it.

"Yes father,we indeed shall see,"I hissed.
