Good idea about the ex-husbands view too! Maybe. . . he cheated first. And she found out. So 1) She cheats back to make him feel bad/for revenge/to teach him a lesson. 2) She confronts him and he doesn't say sorry/she starts to file for a divorce/ they talk and decide together on divorce.
But hey, those are just suggestions. I'm sure whatever you write will be good.
